Discover the Origin seduces consumers at Brighton

On 6-7 April, Discover the Origin exhibited at its first consumer event of 2012 – Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival

Discover the Origin exhibited at Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival over the Easter weekend, where it featured for the very first time since the campaign’s inception. The Discover the Origin team were on hand over the weekend to talk to consumers about the campaign, its delicious products and the best ways to enjoy and cook with them at home.

Over 1,300 people visited the Discover the Origin stand during the two day period, where they indulged in the free tasting sessions that were hosted by fellow foodies Chef Rosemary Nightingale and wine expert Christina Pickard, amongst key stand experts. Rosemary enjoyed demonstrating the finesse required to skilfully slice Parma Ham and the authentic way to cut Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese with an almond shaped knife, whilst Christina discussed and answered questions on the Burgundy, Douro Wines and Port whilst offering expert food and wine matching recommendations to consumers and local chefs and restaurateur.

As the headline sponsor of the festival, Discover the Origin challenged each chef demonstrating their restaurants speciality dish at the Live Food Show to rustle up a five-minute dish using any of the Discover the Origin products as a key ingredient. The challenge soon sparked competition amongst the show’s chefs, with each battling to out-do the other with a unique dish to showcase the versatility of the products. Dishes such as Parma Sushi and Beef Bourgignon with Parma Ham lardons were just a couple of the day’s popular gastronomic creations.
